Seriously, who would have thought a seemingly mundane object like a gym towel needs reinventing? Well, apparently, we do – to meet the demands of today’s sophisticated exercise and sport enthusiasts and to combat ‘threats’ like the germs that your fellow gym users may have left behind on those benches. Towell+ (note: not a typo) is designed to prevent you from picking up those nasties with two pretty ingenious and yet simple methods.
First, a color-indicated gym side and skin side design ensures you will not paint your face with nasty residents from the bench that your towel may have picked up, and it has a sleeve that slips over the top of the bench to prevent Towell+ from slipping out of place, so your skin won’t come in contact with the workout surface. Just to be clear, Towell+ did not tout itself as a germ-annihilating, though. It won’t self-sanitized or do anything like such. We are in the future, but not that future yet.
Next, Towell+ combats modern exercise fanatics’ biggest woe: keys, phones and whatever small items you may have on a gym day, by incorporating a generously sized 4 x 15 inch (10 x 40 cm) pocket into the towel to contain them. One side of the pocket is actually meshed, allowing you to view and access your touchscreen device without having to retrieve it. And then there’s the small but beautiful, patented magnetic clip that allows Towell+ to be hung, clipped, or hooked virtually anywhere.
And oh, and the zipper’s pull; it is functional too, not just as a pull, but it has a hook built into that can work in conjunction with the magnetic clip to hang the Towell+ for air drying. The towel itself is made from 100 percent cotton (with one pound per square weaving thickness, if you want to get technical). Like I said, there’s no germ-combating miracle fabric here, but just a good old fashion towel reinvented for today’s active users.

Or you can pay more, at €35 (approximately US$38) to get it in time for this Christmas season. Though the latter is available in limited quantity, so you have to act fast if you want to make Towell+ as a Christmas present.
