The Age of the Primes toy line has kicked off, and it’s already rewriting the rules of Transformers collectibles. Leading this Cybetronian mythology-inspired charge is the Transformers Age of the Primes Titan Class The Thirteen Star Optimus Prime, a figure so detailed and ambitious that it almost feels like a history lesson in robot form.
Standing at an imposing 15 inches (38 cm), this Optimus isn’t just a robot or a truck—it’s also a battle station, because why settle for just two modes when you can have three? The transformation sequence alone is an engineering flex, with 30 steps to truck mode and 36 to its battle station form. Clearly, this Prime doesn’t do “simple.”
Joining Optimus is his trusty sidekick, Micromaster Autobot Hot Rod, who fits snugly inside the MT-13 Microtrailer in vehicle mode. The package also includes a tread unit, cannon blaster, shoulder blasters, a swivel turret that moonlights as a blaster, a Zodiac orb, and blast effects for good measure. It’s like Optimus raided Cybertron’s armory and then some.
For fans of Transformers lore, this figure ties into the Thirteen Primes mythology, featuring the first bots in Transformers history. It’s the kind of collectible that belongs in a museum—or your desk—thanks to its meticulous detailing and articulation that’s perfect for dramatic action poses.
At US$149.99, it is sold out on Hasbro Pulse, but you can probably still find other toy retailers taking in pre-orders. If not, you can wait until its release, which is slated for around September 2025. It feels far off, but trust me—it’ll likely ship way earlier. Optimus isn’t one to keep fans waiting, after all.
In case you missed it, also joining the Age of the Primes The Thirteen are Leader Class The Thirteen Megatronus the Fallen, Deluxe Class The Thirteen Solus Prime, Voyager Class The Thirteen Prima Prime,
