I know what you are thinking. You are probably thinking ‘didn’t we already have a transforming Ecto-1 already?’ Yes. We have seen one. But this is not the Transformers Ecto-1 that recently has a re-issue.
This is a retool version called Target Exclusive Transformers x Ghostbusters Afterlife Ectotron and yes, it sucks because, it is a Target Exclusive. The Ectotron is essentially a slight retool and re-deco of the Ecto-1 released last year. This one, as the name suggests, is introduced to ride the hype of the much anticipated real sequel to the original 80s classic.
This particular version features a new head-sculpt with “updated Ecto-Goggles” inspired by the movie, a Slimer as well as Masher ghost figures, plus a copy of a special Transformers Ghostbusters Ghosts of Cybertron comic.
Pre-order for the Target Exclusive Transformers x Ghostbusters Afterlife Ectotron action figure is live now at target.com, priced at US$59.99 a pop. It’s not cheap. Then again, since when has crossovers been cheap?
