Originally released along with the Hasbro/Takara Tomy Transformers MP-10G Optimus Prime Ecto-35 Edition was a complementary, and dare we say, more fitting, tribute to Ghostbusters, the Transformers Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Action Figure. It was sold out at some point, though you can still find it sold somewhere.
However, some sellers/retailers thought it was a good idea to jack up the price because, it was no longer on the market. Well, about that… we are happy to be the bearer of a bad news for these people who are cashing on this “sold out” status. The Transformers Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Action Figure is officially back in stock.
The figure was released to commemorate the 35 years (in 2019, that is) of both Transformers and Ghostbusters. It features the iconic Ghostbusters vehicle, Ecto-1 Cadillac as the alt-mode and the robot is a new character aptly named Ectotron.
It converts between robot and vehicle, and vice versa, in 22 steps. Each figure comes with a Slimer figure and Proton Pack accessory.
If you are big fans of 80s pop culture, this is a must-have figure. I mean why wouldn’t it be? It is one figure that represent two of the biggest pop culture phenomena from the 80s. Personally, I sweeping it up, as well as the Top Gun mash-up and maybe even the mass release version of the DeLorean Transformers.
You can pre-order the Transformers Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Action Figure on Hasbro Pulse for US$39.99. The figure will be release on December 14th, 2020.
