I know we have hopped onto the time machine many times, bringing you news from the past. I promise you this isn’t something we picked up while traveling in a DeLorean Time Machine. After the success of its 3D-printed twist-to-Fwwsshhh-VMMM! saber on Kickstarter last year, the team is back, clearly knowing that their first could be better. Enter, well, it’s still called Twistsaber. Only now, instead of hobbyist 3D-printed parts, it’s a factory-finished beauty with a battle-ready injection-molded polycarbonate blade and a full-metal hilt.
Still fully mechanical and gloriously battery-free, Twistsaber 2 is all about twist-to-extend satisfaction with no electronics, no charging, and zero excuses. Just grab the hilt, twist it, and unleash your inner space warrior. Want extra flair? There are five blade colors (yes, including purple), optional glow-in-the-dark versions, and three hilts—each forged for show, cosplay, or casual backyard duels.
It’s ready right out of the box. No tools. No assembly. No, “is this supposed to rattle like that?” panic. Maybe? I mean, seriously, we cannot attest to the build until we get our hands on one. Anyhoo, if you happen to own a 3D printer, there’s even an STL decor pack to keep the maker spirit alive.
Now on Kickstarter, starting at US$119. Belt clip included if you’re fast. At the time of this post, the campaign has attracted nearly 800 backers contributing US$140K to the galactic cause. And it has 26 days to go. It’s going to be a hit. I think it would receive more words if it had proper images of the finished product. Just saying…
