Undone, the innovative customizable watch brand, has released its fourth collaboration with Hello Kitty, celebrating the beloved character’s 50th anniversary. The limited edition collection, available from December 20, 2023, features two distinct models: the mechanical “Bit Kitty” and the quartz “Party Party,” each reflecting half a century of adoration for Hello Kitty.
“Bit Kitty” is a 200-piece limited edition mechanical model showcasing pixel art designs on the dial, bezel, and hands, reminiscent of Hello Kitty‘s initial color scheme. Its dial features a unique texture with elements like the iconic milk and three apples representing Hello Kitty‘s weight. The model also includes a special ’50’ index on the bezel as a tribute to the anniversary. Built with a Basecamp collection’s 40mm stainless steel case, the Bit Kitty is durable and supports an active lifestyle with 100 m (330 ft) water resistance.
“Party Party” is a quartz model, limited in production, featuring Hello Kitty-themed art. The design includes a Sanrio character wearing a “Hello Kitty Hat” on the dial, with Kitty flying an airplane on the disc-type second hand. The caseback showcases exclusive 50th-anniversary art. Additionally, the dial glows blue in the dark for enhanced visibility. The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case and symmetric design, with the crown uniquely placed at the 12 o’clock position for aesthetic balance.
Both models have distinct back glasses – Bit Kitty with its serial number and Party Party with its anniversary art. They are designed for precision and durability, with the Bit Kitty featuring an NH70 movement and the Party Party a TMI VH31 movement.
The Hello Kitty 50th – Bit Kitty is priced at 49,500 yen (tax included), and the Hello Kitty 50th – Party Party is priced at 29,700 yen (tax included). These special timepieces, manufactured by UNDONE JAPAN under a contract with Sanrio and Quinbell, are available on the UNDONE Japan website [JP]. I don’t believe the timepieces are available outside of Japan. We could be wrong.
