Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses

Apparently, smart glasses is still a thing. To be more precise, smart glasses for consumers is still a thing. I can see smart guesses with AR integration can help in manufacturing and similar industries, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t quite see it. Regardless of what I think, Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses is here. Vuzix has announced the availability of the consumer version of the Blade AR Smart Glasses and it is not cheap, commanding a grand $999.99.

As the title of this post says, Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses is like a smartphone you wear before your eyes because, it does pretty much everything your smartphone can do, except for playing games, without having you to retrieve your phone and staring down at it. The information you need, from weather to finding the nearest coffee shop to getting personalized alert, will be presented on a full color, see-through glasses. Your viewing experience on the Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses is enhanced by Vuzix’s proprietary waveguide optics and full color Cobra II display engine.

In addition, Vuzix said Blade AR Smart Glasses will soon get Alexa integration. There is even a HD camera built into, so you can see, recognize, respond to and record the outside real world. Now, who’s looking at their phone? Certainly not Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses’ wearers. But that does not mean you can ditch your smartphone; you can’t. Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses have to be paired to your smartphone. Just that you won’t need to pull out your phone so very often check on things.

I am not going to lie. The proposition is attractive, but the price there though… Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses is available for order for the aforementioned price. If you need prescription inserts, Vuzix can do that too, but that will set back at another $199.99. Ouch.
