When we first came across WESN, it was all thanks to a charming little fella known as the WESN Microblade. Ever since that fateful day, Microblade has been synonymous with WESN. Just as the original iPhone is iconic to Apple, the Microblade is the quintessential representation of WESN.
Icons don’t fade into obscurity; they evolve, and that’s precisely what WESN has done. Well, folks, meet the Microblade 3.0. As the name implies, this is the third iteration of the mighty mini blade. Unfortunately, we didn’t get around to covering the 2.0, but here’s the silver lining – we have the 3.0, and it’s quite the treat!
The WESN Microblade 3.0 is the culmination of feedback from the community, filtered through the lens of the world’s finest knife craftsmen, and meticulously brought to life by WESN’s experts. If the Microblade was good, the 2.0 was better, and the 3.0 is simply the best of the best.
So, what’s new in the Microblade 3.0, you ask? Well, for starters, it sports an upgraded pocket clip that not only secures your knife but slides into the pocket without hassle, while the enhanced mechanics and detent provide seamless movement, resulting in a supremely satisfying knife-handling experience – and opening it with the thumb stud is a breeze for those who prefer to do so that way.
Speaking of the thumb stud, while it’s as iconic as the pocket knife itself, not every pocket knife enthusiast is a fan. Recognizing this, WESN has made it removable, allowing minimalists and non-fans to go without it. As the icing on the cake, the 3.0 boasts an improved blade choil design, making sharpening even easier. After all, every detail matters, no matter how small or large. But amid all these enhancements, a couple of things remain unchanged – the Microblade’s micro size and the immense personality that accompanies it. Some things may evolve, but it all still feels wonderfully familiar.
Now, let’s talk specs. The new WESN Microblade 3.0 boasts a 1.5-inch D2 tool-grade steel blade, paired with a handle featuring Grade 5 titanium scales, available with or without a single G10 side. When fully deployed, it extends to 3.75 inches (9.5 cm), and when folded, it measures a compact 2.25 inches (5.7 cm). As with its predecessors, it remains exceptionally lightweight, tipping the scales at a mere 1 oz (28g), making it ideal as a keychain companion.
