If you are looking for just one Godzilla collectible to add to your room full of collectibles, the new X-Plus Large Monster Series Godzilla (2019) Figure might be it. Why? It is fairly massive and it does not cost a bomb.
First, the size. It is about 27 cm tall (measured to the highest point, the dorsal fin), 48 cm long and 18 cm wide (about 10 x 19 x 7 inches).
As the product name implies, this particular model is modeled after the 2019 Godzilla flick, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, featuring details like the distinctive roughness and texture on the skin.
Two versions are being offered: Shonen RIC Exclusive version and standard version. The RIC version features blue paint application and light-up gimmicks on the eyes, as well as on the dorsal fins – just like we have seen in the 2019 Godzilla: King of the Monsters film. The standard version is, well, just a painted figure.
Material is as before. PVC mostly and ABS for the light up unit, where applicable. The figures are being manufactured by PLEX and as always, they are limited edition, which means if they are sold out, they are sold out.
For pricing, the standard version sells for 18,000 yen (roughly US$168) while the Shonen Ric Exclusive version goes for 19,800 yen (around US$184).
Pre-order starts today (May 20 at 1200 hours) and will end on June 09 at 1700 hours, with delivery to happen in September 2020.
Now, here’s the thing: we only find the standard version listed on Ric US website, not the Ric version however. Did we miss something here? Anywho… we did locate the Ric version on Ric Japan website. Just thought you may want to know.
