It may look like a GoPro, but the similarity ends at the size. The Z E1 is the world’s smallest 4K interchangeable lens camera. It features a micro four-thirds sensor and an interchangeable lens system that’s compatible with most autofocus lenses, including those from Olympus, Panasonic, Leica and Sigma, as well as manual focus lenses. And those are just the start. It also boasts “the most advanced autofocus systems available today” and thanks to the built-in 802.11n and Bluetooth LE, you can control, live stream and manage the content remotely using the already available iOS or Android app. It can even be put to standby mode and subsequently, remotely power up or down, regardless if the E1 is powered on or off.
The wireless connectivity, along with the companion app also allows for easy download of photos or videos and sharing them straight from the mobile device. Equipped with Ambrella A9 image processor, E1 is fully capable of recording 4K videos at 24fps, or UHD at 30fps with H.264 compression. Advanced 3D noise filters using motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) technology affords amazing low-light imaging, allowing it to capture up to 102,400 ISO while not sacrificing image quality. Its super compact form factor and remote functionality, makes it idea for aerial imaging using drone without weighing it down and similarly, it also allows you to bring along more lenses when you hit the road since cumbersome DSLR is now out of the picture.
We hate to overuse the words ‘sounds like’, but the Z E1 4K Interchangeable Lens Camera do really sounds like a photographer/videographer dream equipment, and as far as interchangeable lens camera is concern, it is priced such that you won’t have to forego your limbs to own one – if you grab the deals available on Kickstarter from now till August 16.
