Remember when we told you about the Infinix NOTE 40 Series in March, we briefly mentioned there is going to be a special edition crafted in partnership with BMW DesignWorks. Well, this special edition with BMW Group, aptly called Infinix NOTE 40 Series Racing Edition has been officially announced on June 06 with more details.
Now, special editions with automobile brands aren’t new but what’s interesting about this collab between Infinix and BMW Group, the special edition is not reserved for the range-topping model; the Racing Edition is available across the entire NOTE 40 lineup, including the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, NOTE 40 Pro 5G, NOTE 40 Pro, NOTE 40 5G, and NOTE 40 models. How’s that for consumer inclusivity? I don’t think we have seen a collab device covering the entire series.
Anyhoo, the BMW DesignWorks’ touched edition of the NOTE 40 Series is pretty much the same as the respective standard devices spec-wise. What changes are the back cover design which is inspired by racing aesthetics (very BMW I must say) and of course, a custom UI.
The back cover’s exclusive Wings of Speed design is not mere 2D graphics; it is created with advanced UV transfer printing to achieve the sleek, streamlined lines that flow across the device, forming tiny ridges that you can feel. Infinix says these tiny ridges actually help to enhance the grip and interact with light to create gentle shadows that further up the visual appeal.
The phone’s glossy finish is the result of the use of premium composite materials—which also keep the weight down. Rounding up the aesthetic are the iconic tri-color racing symbols on the frame beside the camera lens. A classy touch in my opinion.
Beyond that expect the same advanced features like a vibrant 3D curved 120Hz AMOLED display, a 108 MP super-zoom camera system with OIS, Active Halo AI lighting, Sound by JBL, All-Round FastCharge 2.0 technology powered by the Cheetah X1 chip, 20 W Wireless MagCharge, and more.
The new Infinix NOTE 40 Series Racing Edition is available globally starting at US$209. It looks like there is a BMW cobranded TWS earbuds, a keychain, and a smartwatch too. But we do not yet have information on those.
