It is unlikely that Evangelion fans who also love motorsports will be able to get behind the wheel of an Evangelion Racing race car in their lifetime. Previously, the closest to “driving” an Evangelion race car was Takara Tomy die-cast collectibles and now, you can get even closer to piloting an EVA race car – thanks to the 1/16 EVA RT 01 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 RC Car.
The 1/16 EVA RT 01 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 RC Car from from Japanese toymaker Happinet Co., Ltd. may be an RC car but I am confident that this little guy is many grown men’s wet dream. And why wouldn’t it be when it is based on an actual racing car from the Evangelion Racing team that was created as a promotional tie-up for Shin Evangelion a couple of years ago?
It is not a pro-grade RC kit, though. It is designed with kids 6 years and older in mind. So, it really is a remote control toy. It comes ready to run. Save for four AA cells for the main unit and a 9V battery for the controller, the 1/16 EVA RT 01 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 RC Car is ready to run (RTR) out of the box. It measures 290 mm (11.4″) long, 135 mm (5.3″) wide, and 90 mm (3.5″) tall.
