1930s A ‘Vauxhall’ Child’s Pedal Car by Lines Brothers

In the ongoing, online-only Spring Automobilia auction organized by Bonhams, featuring properties from the Patrick Collection, there is one interesting piece of automotive memorabilia.

It is a classic kiddie ride from the 1930s made by the British Lines Brothers. Referred to as “A ‘Vauxhall’ Child’s Pedal Car“, it is not in its best condition but man, this is a more affordable way of collecting classic cars and/or for a restoration project.

The kiddie ride hails from the Patrick Collection of British motorcar dealer, Patrick Motor Group. The classic ride-on toy was initially expected to ring in a modest 350-450 quids (about US$456-587) but last checked, it has rolled in 850 pounds (around US$1,108) in bidding.

Quite a surprise, well, at least to me, considering the state that it is in… Then again, it is a piece of automobilia’s history and as I have said, an affordable way to collect and/or restore classic cars, albeit not of grown-up size.

The bidding for the ‘Vauxhall’ child’s pedal car by Lines Brothers, British, the 1930s, will end very soon – on March 14, 2022, at 13:00 GMT. So, if you want it, you may want to act on it quickly.
