there’s nothing like a good old American muscle car. granted, we don’t get these exquisite left-hand drive and rear wheel driven performance monster here but (as usual) that won’t stop us from dreaming about them and the Ford Shelby GT500 is of one those that we love to dream. powered by an all-aluminum 5.8-liter supercharged V8 motor that puts out a mind-bending 650 horses (485 kW) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque, this latest stallion clinched the “most powerful production V8 engine in the world” and it has a claimed top speed of more than 200 mph (322 km/h). other highlights include revised gearing, new quad exhaust system, aggressive (and yet, classy) aero kit, improved traction management system include Torsen limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes, forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2 tires, and a motoring connoisseur dream – six-speed manual transmission that boost upgraded gears, bearings and housing. if that’s not enough for you, Ford is also dishing out two optional packages for improved performance on your track days. the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is set to hit the dealers next year with pricing to be announced. though, no exact date was given. check out a gallery of larger images of this awesome ride after the break.
