perhaps an all-electric ride’s less than stellar mileage has been keeping you away from being an eco-conscious speedster. with the 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, you can do your part in this eco movement while still having the performance that’s so dear to you. based on the Panamera S Hybrid, this new iteration now sports a more powerful 96 horsepower (70 kW) electric motor, juiced by a newly developed 9.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that gets to full charge in about 2.5 hours via a 240V power outlet, or any public charging facilities. when driven solely by electric power, the E-Hybrid is capable of up to 84 mph and a range of between 11 and 22 miles (18 and 36 km). together with its 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine, the Panamera S E-Hybrid offers 416 ponies (310 kW) that will propel it from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). the best part is, with its hybrid drivetrain, the E-Hybrid clock an impressive 3.1-liter per 100 kilometer (or about 76 mpg) in fuel economy. best of both worlds? we thought so too, but probably more, as it is a full-fledge four-door sports sedan, it has all the practicality you will need (though it still seats four, thanks to its pair of bucket seats at the rear). other features include smartphone integration for a varied remote control over the car functions (other than driving, of course), an eight-speed automatic Tiptronic S transmission, bi-xenon headlights, multifunction steering wheel, automatic boot lid, and a myriad of safety features to keep you safe while on the road. the 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid will be rolling into the dealership this July with a big €110,409 (roughly US$144,000) sticker slapped on it. scroll down for a few more look.
