we think Lexus is officially in the swirl of model confusion. we are not Lexus specialists and hence, we are easily confused by the models the luxury car maker has to offer, specifically in the RC range. at the recent Geneva Motor Show, it has introduced yet another RC model, known as the 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport. note the ‘350’ and ‘Sport’, which are huge hints that this new ride sits between the RC 350 Sport Coupe and the range topping RC F. confused? i guess as much. basically, in layman terms, it is ‘better’ then the former and ‘not so better’ than the latter. power comes from a 3.5-liter V6 petrol unit (2GR-FSE, for petrol heads), pumping out 306 hp and 277 lb-ft (375 Nm) of torque, with an eight-speed automatic gearbox putting those figures to the rear wheels.
as much as we love to know, there’s no word on how this in-between model performs. visually, it is the RC, which is a standalone model and not a derivative of a sedan, bears the styling of the rest of the RC except that it has a model-specific “F” mesh design and it rolls on 19-inch F SPORT mesh alloy wheels in dark metallic finish. as an F SPORT, it also gets the Adaptive Variable Suspension for improved handling, as well as option for four-wheel steering. on the inside, it gets perforated leather steering wheel and shift knob, Silver Performance trim, F-SPORT-exclusive Rioja Red interior with contrast stitching and a dash of LFA’s DNA in the form of driver’s meter, featuring a moving center ring. expect the ride to be roll into Stateside this fall. though no word on the pricing yet.
