Those living in the Middle East who wished for the power of a sports car but with the practicality of a SUV, like the ability to seat eight, Nissan in Middle East has good news for you.
Nissan has recently introduced the 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO SUV to the Middle East market. That’s right. There is a uprated Patrol now with NISMO branding and boy, is it one hell of a looker.
Patrol, btw, is Armada-equivalent SUV found in stateside.
Aside from the looks spruced up by functional aerodynamics, new roof spoiler, signature NISMO red line around the vehicle, and the requisite NISMO branding around and inside the SUV, the engine in each vehicle is handcrafted by its own takumi technician which yields 428 horses and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque from the Patrol’s 5.6L V8 engine.
That’s 28 more ponies than the Patrol LE Titanium it is based on. Unfortunately, though, torque did not get a boost. No performance numbers were provided, however. But I am sure with so much horsepower and a SUV look like dope, performance numbers are not needed.
A key design upgrade to the 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO is the addition of a side duct to the front bumper to achieve zero lift force and there is a cumulative wheel weight reduction of 4.5 kilograms (10 lbs).
Speaking of wheels, it is a set of 22-inch, two-tone aluminum wheels with NISMO logo, naturally.
Obviously, there is more to this NISMO SUV. It includes Bilstein shock absorbers, enhancement in handling, new front fascia, new front lamps, new taillights, LED rear fog lights, improved cabin quietness and a luxe appointed interior with race-inspired styling, along with second row AC, Alcantara and side leather upholstery, black Alcantara steering wheel with red carbon fiber inserts, NISMO logo on headrests and the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) which comprises of smart driving and safety features.
2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO SUV is a Middle East exclusive car launched in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Nissan Patrol which was born in 1951. The Patrol NISMO is the third NISMO in the Middle East markets, joining the likes of 370Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO.
It will be available this month (April) to the Middle East region with a starting price of AED 385,00 (US$105,000).
