The 2023 Rolls-Royce Spectre Electric Vehicle has no relation to the 007. And while it is the British luxury carmaker’s first full-size electric vehicle, it is technically not its first BEV. Also, it should not be confused with the equally stunning custom-built Rolls-Royce Silver Spectre. Damn it, how did Niels Van Roij Design foresee that Rolls-Royce will be using the name Spectre in their next model’s name?
Anyhoo, the announcement of the 2023 Rolls-Royce Spectre fulfilled the prophecy of the marque’s found father, Charles Rolls, who prophesized an electric future for the motor car when he picked up an electric vehicle called The Columbia Electric Carriage.
Billed as the world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupe, the Rolls-Royce Spectre is named the spiritual successor to the Phantom Coupe.
It is built on the marque’s all-aluminum “Architecture of Luxury” and powered by a 430 kW (577 HP) electric drivetrain that peaks out at 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. It is paired with a battery system that offers a WLTP range of 520 kilometers (320 miles) and makes the century sprint in 4.5 seconds (or 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds).
The Spectre is the first production two-door coupe to roll on humongous 23-inch wheels. A smooth ride is assured through a new groundbreaking Planar suspension that uses both hardware and software to deliver Rolls-Royce’s hallmark “magic carpet ride”.
Moreover, the car is offered, for the first on a series production Rolls, Starlight Doors that boasts no less than 4,796 softly illuminated ‘stars’. The coach doors can be commissioned with a backdrop of wood Canadel Paneling if so desire. And yes, it does have a Rolls-Royce brolly in the door.
The LED treatment does not end at the doors; it extends to the grille with 22 LEDs lighting up the sandblasted rear side of each of the vanes.
Now for the super good news for the super-rich. The new 2023 Rolls-Royce Spectre is available for commission immediately, with first deliveries expected to commence in Q4 2023. Pricing hasn’t been revealed but the British marque said it will be positioned between the Cullinan and Phantom. Meanwhile, you discover more HERE.
