2026 Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Hypercar

If you haven’t already heard, Swedish exquisite automaker Koenigsegg has a new exhilarating “megacar.” That’s right, folks. KOENIGSEGG has redefined the super performance car category. The new 2026 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is beyond “super” and “hyper”; it is “mega”. And with 1,300 horsepower on tap, it really is a megacar.

But 1,300 isn’t even the best the Sadair’s Spear has to offer. Top this beast up with E85—a high-ethanol fuel blend that typically has an octane rating of 100–105—and its 5.0L twin-turbo V8 motor pushes out a ridiculous 1,625 horses.

However, it is unclear if the peak torque of 1,500 Nm (~1,106 lb-ft) gets further bumped when using E85. The ferocious motor is paired to a 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission, allowing Koenigsegg’s latest megacar to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in a blink—or 2.6 seconds—on its way to a terminal velocity of a mind-bending 360 km/h (about 224 mph).

Oh, did we mention it has a rev limit of about 8,500 rpm, and all that power only has about 1,385 kilograms (3,053 lbs) to haul? That translates to a power-to-weight ratio that exceeds 1:1, a rare feat in road-legal vehicles. This beast may be track-focused, but it’s totally road-legal too. Imagine the number of heads that will turn when this cruises on the streets.

Also, did we mention it wiped Koenigsegg’s own record? It clocked a lap time of 2:55.88, beating the Jesko Attack by a good 1.1 seconds. But all this wouldn’t have been possible without improved aero and reduced drag.

The former includes a top-mounted double-blade rear wing, enlarged front canards, underfloor strakes, and a Gurney flap-enhanced hood vent. The aero produces a downforce of 850 kilograms (1,874 lbs) at 250 km/h (155 mph) and a road-hugging 1,224 kilograms (2,698 lbs) at 300 km/h (186 mph).

In the tradition of Koenigsegg (and probably for engineering reasons beyond my understanding), it has multi-layer carbon-ceramic brakes with upgraded pads mounted—not upright at the front or rear of the disks—but at a 45-degree angle.

The car also rocks retuned dampers and springs and rolls on carbon Aircore wheels with the iconic turbine wheel profile first seen on the Agera R. These wheels suck air from under the car, achieving two things: increasing downforce and cooling the brakes. This also means you can’t just switch the wheels around as you wish. Each wheel is unique to each corner.

Speaking of wheels, they’re wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 3 R—275 at the front, and 335 at the rear. In case you’re wondering what’s up with the long model name… well, it’s named after one of Christian von Koenigsegg’s father’s favorite racehorses.

The 2026 Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is a super-limited edition of just 30 units, each priced slightly under US$5 million. The price is, well, not a surprising number. A car like this is, and has always been, for regular folks to admire and the elite few to appreciate. That’s just how life is. Keep going for the launch video and a couple more looks.
