3D Print Atomic Dragon aka Mechagodzilla

The Mechagodzilla from last year’s blockbuster, Godzilla vs. Kong, was quite a letdown. I was expecting a Godzilla in mecha form just like, you know, the classic Mechagodzilla. Instead, what we got was a reptilian-like mecha with unusually long limbs.

This is where Indonesia-based 3D artists collective Toymakr3D’s Atomic Dragon can make it right. Contributed by reza_aulia, the Atomic Dragon is a fan’s take of the Mechagodzilla. It looks very much like modern-day, big screen Godzilla but in mechanical form.

It boasts over 20 points of articulation which include the holy grail of articulations: waist swivel along with a superposable tail. Among these articulated joints are 11 “anti-loose joints” which are designed to allow for tightening if required.

All told, Atomic Dragon towers at an impressive 36 centimeters (about 14 inches) tall and weighs in at around 1.7 kilograms (3.7 lbs).

Atomic Dragon aka Mechagodzilla is a posable, high-resolution 3D print figure that is designed to be easy to print without support and boasts the best 3D print orientation for maximum strength results.

The 3D model can be easily re-scaled if desired. The design itself, when completed, requires no screw to assemble. Though super glue may be needed in certain areas.

This being a 3D printed file means you will need a 3D printer. Also, finishing touches like trimming and sanding are expected to make the figure looks great. Painting is, however, optional as the model is designed with colors.
