We usually don’t cover any topic related to porn (save for some bizarre sex toys like this and this), but this news is way too bizarre not to be covered. Full disclosure before I proceed. Earlier this month, Amsterdam’s Red Light District is home to a “new attraction.” It is a cinema, but not just any porn cinema, mind you. It is a so-called 5D porn cinema that, in addition to 3D, offers a variety of sensory effects that lets you feel and move for, you know, a more immersive experience. Well, what can I say? If immersion is you are after… there is nothing more immersive than you doing the deed yourself and that, my friend, is something not lacking at the Red Light District. I supposed, it is for those want a different experience watching porn.
However, this being a ‘cinema’, your sexual ecstasy won’t be alone; you will be aroused en masse, with 17 complete strangers – or 16, if you are watching with your partner. 5D Porn Cinema is essentially a 4D experience. In other words, you’d be expecting moving and vibrating seats like you would find in any 4D ride in regular theme parks, but with a few more sensory effects, including wind, water, bubbles, lights and even snow, thrown in by equipment like air jets and water cannons – and all in sync with the action of the movie. Wait, what? “In sync with the action”? Seriously, I don’t how that is going to happen. Like, which role are you playing?
In any case, I wouldn’t call it a cinema to begin with because, each so-called movie only lasts six minutes. It is more like an adult thrill ride. Like I have said, it is like the 4D rides in theme parks, except that sexual intercourse is the ‘plot’. It is not cheap. The six minutes experience cost €12.50 (about US$14).
