Toho Co. Ltd. did not collaborate with Singapore Tourism Board like Tsuburaya Productions did, but the film production company best known for Gojira has graced Singapore—in addition to other iconic cities of Southeast Asia. Oh, you did not see it at the waters of Marina Bay Sands? Neither did we, but it was on camera, in a video by Toho on Godzilla’s YouTube channel.

As part of Big G’s 70th birthday, Toho released a tribute video featuring the King of the Monsters stomping (virtually, thankfully) through Southeast Asian landmarks—no skyscrapers were harmed in the making of this love letter to fans. It’s a cinematic shoutout to the decades of roaring support from the region, all rendered in glorious CG.
This may not be a movie trailer, but it sure feels like one. Between the dramatic music, epic skyline shots, and Godzilla doing his signature scream, it’s clear Toho wanted to remind everyone that this 70-year-old kaiju is still very much in his prime.
Anyhoo, if you haven’t already, head over to Godzilla’s official YouTube channel to witness the virtual rampage and feel the nostalgic goosebumps. Just… don’t expect him to show up at your local hawker centre.
