LEGO Sent A 21321 ISS Into Space (Almost!)

LEGO had sent a space-themed LEGO set into space, again. No doubt a marketing campaign to promote the newly launched LEGO Ideas 21321 International Space Station and we are loving every second of it.

Last month, LEGO attached a LEGO Ideas 21321 International Space Station set to a weather balloon and set it free into the sky. The miniature LEGO ISS managed to reach the outer stratosphere, as close to the real International Space Station as it possibly could.

Accompanying the 21321 on the journey was a contraption which LEGO did no describe, but obviously, packed a camera which enabled us to see the LEGO Ideas 21321 International Space Station in space (almost!) against the background of our beautiful little Blue Marble.

The view was spectacular and so was the set which features new solar panel decorations created for this model, access hatch made from a LEGO ring-pull soda can element and a transport craft that is used to ferry scientists to and from the ISS.

Fun fact: In the development of this fan-submitted and green-lit set, LEGO actually asked NASA experts to check and approve the final design. So, the set should be as accurate as it could be, LEGO speaks, of course.
