Louis Vuitton Music Player Wearable Wallet

If seafood-inspired handbags weren’t enough, Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2025 collection has something for tech nostalgists too. No, they haven’t launched a luxury MP3 player, but they have dropped a lineup of music-inspired leather goods that pay tribute to the golden age of portable audio.

Leading the collection is the Music Player Wearable Wallet, a US$1,850 crossbody bag that looks suspiciously like an iPod—except, you know, made of cowhide leather and Monogram canvas instead of polycarbonate. It features a faux screen with an LV dashboard, a gold-toned zip, and a main compartment big enough to hold your phone, cardholder, and keys. The adjustable strap ensures you can rock it at the perfect length, while an earphone’s charm reminds you of the days when tangled cables were a rite of passage.

Then there’s the Baladeur Wearable Wallet—which is, essentially, a luxury Walkman-shaped bag priced at a cool S$3,300 (mysteriously absent LV all other websites except Singapore). With its horizontal opening, chunky buttons, and transparent window, it mimics the look of a classic cassette player while being far more expensive and significantly less functional. Pharrell Williams’ earphone charm completes the retro aesthetic.

For those who like their accessories a little smaller (or with less budget but still want the cassette nostalgia vibe), the LV Tape Card Holder (US$800) takes the shape of a cassette tape with a zip closure, gusseted compartment, and an adjustable strap for crossbody or neckwear.

If cassette tape is too old for you, there’s the LV Music Key Holder and Bag Charm (US$960). This little guy is an iPod-inspired mini pouch featuring a Monogram flower relief, gold-toned hardware, and an “acidic” faux screen—the perfect way to clip some high-fashion nostalgia onto your keys.

These may not play actual music, but they do make a statement—mostly that you’re very into expensive, cleverly disguised nostalgia. Usually, nostalgia does not cost much but not this time.
