AirSelfie, the folks who put a selfie drone on the back of your smartphone, is backed with yet another pocket-friendly selfie drone called AIR PIX. This time, it is even smaller than a typical smartphone, measuring just 102 x 85 x 13 mm (4 x 3.3 x 0.5 inches) and weighs in at mere 52g (1.83 oz). To put things in perspective, AIR PIX is smaller than an iPhone X.
Notwithstanding its diminutive size, this rectangular quadcopter comes outfitted with a 12 MP 70-degree Field of View (FoV) camera that is fully capable of FHD videoing at 30 fps. Furthermore, it also boasts autonomous flight, gesture control, facial recognition, 30 meters (100 feet) of flight range, 2.4 GHz WiFi, and comes with a 8 GB SD card for storing footage.
Other details include AirSelfie’s signature chassis integrated propellers, brushed coreless motors, safe auto landing in the event of low battery of loss of signal, pre-programmed flight patterns, smooth airflow flight stabilization, and a reinforced, lightweight ABS plastic chassis.
Interestingly, AirSelfie is offering the AIR PIX with an optional (and very sleek) power bank docking sleeve that will keep your little flying cameraman in the air longer while on-the-go. Speaking of battery life, AIR PIX only offers 6 minutes of flight time and so, it is clearly not designed for long aerial videos. It is more for quick self portraits.
AirSelfie AIR PIX is available for pre-order via Indiegogo for a super early bird price of just $79. If you want one, you will not want to procrastinate for too long as the campaign will end in 18 days or so. The campaign is on flexible goal and so, yes, your pledge is a pre-order which, according to the funding page, will be delivered sometime in August 2019.
