Apple 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 (2023)

Never mind that some tech reviewers questioned the existence of the MacBook Air with M2 chip because there’s a new MacBook Air with M2 chip, and it is a 15-inch model. Not going to lie. I did not follow closely on the rumors and so I am pretty surprised to hear that the Air has gone 15.

The Apple 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 is rocking an expansive 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display and is powered by the M2 silicon. It is outfitted with a battery that offers up to 18 hours of use in between charges and it is super thin and lightweight for a 15-inch laptop, with a profile of just 11.5 mm (0.45 inches) and weighing in at 3.3 lbs (1.51 kg).

To put the numbers in perspective, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro chip is 15.5 mm (0.61 inches) and weighs 3.5 lbs (1.60 kg). To achieve this thin and light form factor, the new MacBook Air has a fanless design which I already foresee will not be in favor with many. But I could be wrong.

Anyhoo, the new MacBook Air also boasts an all-new six-speaker sound system with support for Spatial Audio, plus a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and MagSafe charging, and it comes armed with two Thunderbolt ports that can support up to a 6K external display. Alongside the USB-C interface ports is a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
