Audioengine B2 Premium Bluetooth Speaker

You can say Audioengine is kind of late in the Bluetooth speaker game, but if you’re fan, the Audioengine B2 Premium Bluetooth Speaker could very well worth the wait. Dressed in a handsome hand-built wood cabinet, featuring 18mm MDF material and real wood veneer, the B2 boasts 60W peak output delivered via a pair of 2.75″ Kevlar woofers with advanced voice coils and two 3/4″ silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets. With the B2, Audioengine has essentially ported the signature sound found on the Audioengine 2+ into a compact, one-piece wireless speaker system that benefits from Bluetooth 4.0 technology with aptX for high-quality wireless streaming. Further boosting its audio delivery is a dual class A/B monolithic amplifier and a 24-bit DAC, plus a dual front port slots for extended bass performance.

Other worthy mentions include extended wireless range of up to 100 feet (30 meters), built-in auto voltage switching power supply with 3-stage redundant regulation power filtering, a 3.5mm stereo audio jack and magnetic speaker grills. The Audioengine B2 also marks the first time Audioengine has incorporated speaker grills into their speaker design, which is nice touch, but we’d prefer to dispense with the grill for that signature Audioengine look. Having auditioned a couple of Audioengine speakers, namely A2 and A5, and if all that promised can be delivered, then it is safe to say we can expect nothing less than awesome sonic reproduction at an much affordable price. Speaking of price, the Audioengine B2 Premium Bluetooth Speaker is going for just $299. Brilliant.
