What are the odds that a person needs to carry a classy designer handbag and also lug along a boombox at the same time? I’d say most people will not run into this sort of situation. However, situations are created by humans and so here it is, the Balenciaga x Bang & Olufsen Speaker Bag that will let you do the aforementioned: carrying a designer handbag and a Bluetooth speaker at the same time.
The obvious boon here is that it is a one-hand affair. Sweet. Not going to lie. I have seen one too many unnecessarily bizarre Balenciaga products and the Balenciaga x Bang & Olufsen Speaker Bag is definitely not one of them. Despite that you rarely have days where you need both a handbag and speaker at the same time, it is at least practical and does not look out of place.
The speaker bag is crafted to resemble the sculptural form of Balenciaga’s handbags and it is a fully functional bag and portable speaker. It boasts a solid aluminum body, milled from a solid block of aluminum, pearl-blasted, anodized, and hand-polished – a hallmark of B&O speaker design.
Behind the familiar B&O perfect pattern of speaker holes that front the device is a portable speaker that offers up to 18 hours of battery life and multipoint connectivity. Meanwhile, over at the rear, a door opens to reveal a sizeable compartment wrapped in Balenciaga’s Italian lambskin leather, assembled by hand.
Completing the package is a set of controls discreetly placed under the handle and Balenciaga and B&O logos can be found etched into the top.
The Balenciaga x Bang & Olufsen Speaker Bag made its maiden appearance at the recent 51st Couture show in Paris, strutting down the floors with the previously mentioned avant-garde face shield. Only 20 editions of the speaker bag will be available to buy and only at the newly opened Balenciaga Couture store in Paris. The price is, however, unknown. But it doesn’t matter because it should have already flown off the shelves.
