Perhaps you don’t run at night. Instead, you’re more of a night adventurer who could use a hands-free light source. If so, BioLite has you covered with the new made-for-your-wildest-adventures Range Headlamps.

With the new BioLite Range Headlamp Series, downtime is reduced thanks to fast-charging that gives you an hour of high-beam light with just 8 minutes of charging. If you’re not in a hurry, like, you know, no bears are chasing you down, and you don’t mind putting up with the darkness for 30 minutes, you can get it from zero juice to 80% charged. Either way, it’s a lifesaver if you’re out in the wild, in the dark, and need light fast.
Fast-charging is via, you guessed it, USB-C—which is possibly the most important innovation of the twenty-tens, if I might add. The Range Headlamps can be used in any situation requiring hands-free light, but they’re designed with the great outdoors in mind. They’re IP67 waterproof, able to take heavy rain or even a dunk.
Moreover, there’s a reserve mode that automatically switches to a 5-lumen emergency setting when the battery runs low, preventing you from going completely dark, like literally. Each headlamp features large glove-friendly button(s), easy one-hand tilt before rounding off with a bounce-free fit with moisture-wicking fabric that feels more like a headband than a headlamp.
The new BioLite Range Headlamp Series comes in three models: Range 300, Range 400, and Range 500. The number corresponds to max lumens. They also differ in range, burn time, modes, and, of course, price. The 300 shines 75 meters (246’), while the 400 and 500 push it to 90 meters (295’) and 100 meters (328’), respectively.
Meanwhile, burn time for low and high for the 3 models is 100 hours/4 hours, 200 hours/ 6 hours, and 200 hours/6 hours. The 300 offers basic White Spot and Strobe modes. The 400 adds Red Flood and Red Strobe, and the 500 adds Red Flood, Red Strobe, and White Flood modes.
The new BioLite Range Headlamps are available now, starting at US$39.95. If you must collect them all, a bundle with all three goes for US$152.87, saving you some greens.
