Gold is not the usual thing when it comes to G-SHOCK. Though the world’s most loved, super tough digital timepiece does have some gold colored watches in its lineup, they are not quite the gold, gold one might have expected. That said, if you are all up for some goldish ‘bling’ that comes with the renowned toughness of G-SHOCK and with a tinkle of exclusivity, then may we suggest you check out the Casio G-SHOCK x Va$htie GMAS110VK-9A Watch. This special collaboration between Casio America and the famed New York-based director/artist/DJ/creative consultant/brand owner of fashion label Violette New York is G-SHOCK’s first-ever work with a female artist and is clearly geared towards the young, fashion-forward bunch.
Inline with Va$htie’s obsession with gold, the timepiece stands out as one that is coated metallic gold and comes complete with Violette logo on the band and Va$htie logo on the caseback. As with most special collaborations we have seen time and time again, the Casio G-SHOCK x Va$htie GMAS110VK-9A Watch will come with its own custom packaging and tin. Aesthetic aside, the watch bears the same feature you would have expected of the G-SHOCK’s analog digital style watch, which includes auto LED backlight, 200M (656’) water resistance, magnetic resistance, shock resistance, world time function for 48 cities, four daily alarms with one snooze, and 1/1000th second stopwatch and countdown timer, and selectable 12/24 hour formats.
The Casio G-SHOCK x Va$htie GMAS110VK-9A Watch is available, priced at $160 a piece, from select Macy’s, Tourneau, key fashion boutiques, and G-SHOCK Soho NYC store.
