As the post titled said, you can’t. Not at least you take a closer look. From a distance, the Citizen x Final Fantasy XIV Wrist Watch looks just like regular Citizen timepieces.
However, its beautiful and allure can only appreciated upon closer observation. Translation: only serious fans will be able to appreciate. Similarly, with a starting price of 38,500 yen (about US$349), it, really is, something only super fan will commit to one.
There are two models in this collection, each adopting the concept of “Light” and “Darkness”, and designed under the full supervision of the FFXIV development and operation team.
The mark of Eorzea Twelve Deities can be found on the dial face of each model, in between the indices, or above the indices in case of the “Dark” model. The “Darkness” model is a chronograph model.
The indices on both models are very different too, but again, details like the crystal inspired design on, for example, the hands, are something only true fan can relate and appreciate.
Finally, a FFXIV branding can be found engrave on the case back and the screw-down crown is engraved with the symbol of Azem.
Beyond the subtle FFXIV cosmetics, the watches benefit from Citizen’s original photovoltaic eco-drive.
The Citizen x Final Fantasy XIV Wrist Watches are sold as made-to-order products from Citizen Watch Official Site as well as on Square Enix e-Store from May 17 through to June 30, 23:59 hours. Delivery is expected to commence on December 24, 2021.
