DC Designer Edition Batman Year Two Gold Label Figure

Dang it. The McFarlane DC Designer Edition Batman Year Two Gold Label Figure was up for pre-order earlier today on Target, but it was gone in a blink of an eye. And yes, it is unfortunate that it had to be a Target exclusive. Now that the pre-orders are all sold out, fans will have just to wait for the official release which is TBA.

Anyhoo, it is not hard to see why McFarlane DC Designer Edition Batman Year Two Gold Label Figure was snapped up in a jiffy. Just look at the awesome, exaggerated cape. The design was based on Todd McFarlane’s artwork for DC Batman: Year Two and it has gotta be the biggest cape the toymaker has ever done.

While impressive, the cape ain’t articulated. It is a fixed pose cape, but cool nonetheless. Under the giant-ass cape, this classic Bat has no arms; the arms are supplied with the set as separate pieces which you can remove the exaggerated cape to install the arm.

A separate, regular-size fabric cape is provided for a more normal-looking Cape Crusader. With such an enormous, stylized cape, I don’t see why anyone would want a regular cape. Personally, I would display it with the giant, “flowing” cape.

The figure comes with a gravestone diorama with Bruce’s parents’ name on it and the set will come with a collector’s card. It is worthy to note “over a thousand of them” will have a signed card, signed by Todd McFarlane. Whether if you are getting a signed card is not up to lucky; it is actually indicated on the box that it comes with a signed card.

The McFarlane DC Designer Edition Batman Year Two Gold Label Figure will sell for US$49.99 when it hits the shelves.
