One more thing from Mondo that has slipped our mind for a while now. This one is for toy collectors and fans of Stranger Things: the Demogorgon Vinyl Designer Figure by James Groman. It is clearly a “Q” variant, but even so, it is no less menacing—thanks in part to its enormous stature.
This figure of the infamous creature from the Upside Down is meticulously crafted from soft vinyl and PVC. It measures an impressive 15 inches (38 cm) wide and 15 inches (38 cm) tall, and weighs in at a hefty 5 lbs (2.27 kg). As the product name implies, this Demogorgon is designed and sculpted by the very talented James Groman.
The terrifying essence of the Demogorgon is recreated through an extraordinary level of detail and craftsmanship. And if that’s not terrifying enough, it has some level of articulation that allows for dynamic poses straight out of the chilling scenes of the show.
Adding to its mystique, the figure features glow-in-the-dark Christmas lights, a nod to the iconic decor of the Byers’ household. The attention to detail extends to the inclusion of interchangeable parts—an open-mouth swappable head, a closed-mouth swappable head, a swappable closed right hand with a skull, and a swappable open right hand, offering fans the ability to recreate various moments of the creature’s ominous presence.
Included with the figure is adorable Dart, the Demogorgon’s youngling, enhancing the storytelling possibilities. But I think one of the biggest highlights is the spiked bat lodged on the figure’s back and the bear trap on the left leg which are nods to the heroic attacks by Steve Harrington, Jonathan, and Nancy on this creature that is hell-bent on killing the humans.
