Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan handheld portable fan with slim 38 mm cylindrical design
Dyson’s first handheld fan brings 65,000 RPM airflow, a 5,000 mAh battery, and its signature 38 mm motor-barrel design to the fast-growing portable cooling trend.

There is a growing product trend in the Asia-Pacific region, and it is called handheld fans. It is an interesting phenomenon given there are a bunch of cooling options, such as “air-conditioners” that are worn around the neck, and even vests with fans. But for some reason, handheld fans prevailed. It looks like Dyson has noted this, and it has leveraged its know-how in fans to, you guessed it, offer up its own handheld fan. Folks, meet the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan, Dyson’s first portable handheld fan.

Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan

At 212 g, it is about the weight of a smartphone, and measures a compact, though longish, 38 mm in diameter and 180 mm tall. Speaking of the dimensions, the Dyson HushJet shares Dyson’s signature 38 mm motor-barrel diameter with the Supersonic r and PencilVac. If you don’t know, Dyson has an affinity with the number 38. Why exactly, I have no idea. I guess it is the go-to number for miniaturizing.

Packed inside is a brushless DC motor that spins up to 65,000 RPM, capable of delivering powerful airflow up to 25 m/s. It offers five levels of airflow, plus a powerful boost mode, which is the 25 m/s setting. Also inside the compact housing is a 5,000 mAh battery, good for up to six hours of battery life between charges. Charging takes around three hours. To be clear, you get up to six hours if the airflow is at level “1”. So, wind-hungry users may want to take note.

The HushJet can be used as a handheld device, allowing you to cool your hot face and head at any angle your hand can maneuver, or it can be used as a desk fan—presumably with the use of the included charging stand. It can also be used hands-free, thanks to the included neck strap.

The fan will not just be powerful. It will also have “comfortable operating noise.” Dyson said the device produces 48.6 dB to 71.4 dB of noise. To put the numbers in perspective, it ranges from just below typical indoor conversation to maybe slightly quieter than city traffic from the sidewalk, or maybe a vacuum cleaner in operation. It uses a HushJet nozzle to reduce frequencies, thus eliminating the annoying high-pitched sounds and motor humming.

Dyson has thought of various scenarios in which you could use this device, and hence, it will also offer some accessories. For starters, it comes bundled with the aforementioned neck strap and charging stand, as well as a USB-C charging cable and a travel pouch. There will also be optional accessories like a universal mount for attaching it to a stroller handle, and a grip clip for securing it to bag straps or jackets.

The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan comes in three cool colors: ink/cobalt, stone/blush, and carnelian/sky. It is expected to launch in select markets, including the U.K., Japan, and Singapore, on May 20, 2026. Price has not been disclosed.
