E.C.D. Automotive Design, the maestro of custom and restored Land Rovers and Defenders, is not the name associated with electric vehicles. But here it is, an E.C.D. Automotive Design electric Range Rover Classic. And it is not just any Range Rover Classic.
It is the world’s first Tesla-powered Range Rover Classic. For this bespoke example, E.C.D. partnered with U.K.’s electric conversion specialist, Electric Classic Cars (ECC), to land itself a Tesla motor.
After 2,200 hours of design, along with client’s participation, and a team of 50, the first Tesla-powered Range Rover Classic is born.
The Tesla motor, which produces a useful 450 BHP, enables this new oldies to rocket from 0-60 (97 km/h) in just 5.2 seconds while the 100 kWh Tesla battery system affords it a range of 220 miles (354 km) on a five-hour charge.
While the stock suspension was retained, it gets an upgraded axle with Limited Slip Differentials (LSD) as well as high-performance regenerative braking.
This one-of-the-kind RRC is presented with LED headlights with original lighting, a glossy Alpine White paint job, black grilled, silver metal front and rear bumpers, and rolls on 18-inch Land Rover Boost 5-Spoke wheels wrapped in Continental Cross Contact tires.
Other highlights include E.C.D. cluster gauges, and a luxe interior featuring dark wood dash, Spinneybeck Pueblito tan leather seating, custom vertical diamond stitching throughout, drink cabinets, and cutting edge audio comprising of Infinity speakers and subs, Alpine Halo 9 system with CarPlay, backup cameras and Bluetooth.
The E.C.D. Automotive Design Tesla-powered Range Rover Classic is not for sale; it was a bespoke example created for a particular client. However, if you are so inclined, you can reach out to E.C.D.
