Green and purple seems like the reference to most Evangelion collaborative product. Not the Evangelion x G-Shock DW6900 Watch, though. Well, at least not all of it. Instead, the Evangelion x G-Shock DW6900 Watch is a predominantly black timepiece with hints of bright green and purple.
It is not really telling that it is an EVA-themed DW6900, if not for the obvious branding like “RADIO EVA” and “Unit-01” on the watch band, and “EVA-01 Test Type Model” on the watch face. The formal two are in prominent neon green like most of the watch’s markings while the latter is in purple as with the words “FULL ILLUMINATION.”
Meanwhile, the usual G-Shock branding and G logo also received the purple treatment. Final Evangelion touches include a spine design of Unit-01, also in purple, on the watch band, and a frontal image of the EVA-01 upper engraved on the case back.
Those are about it. No fancy light up graphics like we have seen on other collab, which is kind of let down.
Beyond the Evangelion cosmetics, the Evangelion x G-Shock DW6900 Watch you expect it to be, with features like water resistance to 200 meters (656 feet), shock resistance, 1/100 seconds stopwatch, multi-alarm, full auto calendar, 12/24-hour format, EL backlight with afterglow function, et cetera.
Evangelion x G-Shock DW6900 Watch will drop in August 2020 for 20,000 yen plus tax (around US$186). Pre-order is already ongoing in Japan.
