The doom and gloom, and Shinji’s constant crying aside, Neon Genesis Evangelion is actually a pretty colorful anime. It is intentional, and if you ask me, if you’re going to collab on a watch, it should be as colorful too. Such is the case with the latest G-Shock Evangelion Collaboration Model, the GA-110EVA30-7AJR.

Where the DW5600 EVA-02 was too single-mindedly Asuka, and the DW6900 Unit-01 inspired piece leaned a little too subtle, this one strikes a sweet spot. No doubt it is about Shinji’s purple mecha, but it sneaks in cult-level details like the Spear of Longinus and the first Angel, Sachiel, that spell the beginning of a cult series.
Casio even roped in Evangelion mecha designer Ikuto Yamashita to craft the details. The short band bears Unit-01’s iconic horn, while the bezel has the mech’s face. Running down the strap, you’ll find an arm gripping the Spear of Longinus mid-throw. Inside the face, Sachiel lurks in the 9 o’clock subdial, while the Y-shaped divider shouts EVA’s iconic CAUTION motif. Add in “NEONGENESIS” on the strap loop, a NERV logo at the tip, and a 30th anniversary engraving on the caseback, and it’s fan service at its best.
Of course, it’s still a GA-110 under the skin: shock resistant, magnetic resistant, 20-bar water resistance, LED backlight, world time with 48 cities, stopwatch down to 1/1000 second, countdown timer, five alarms, snooze, and a full auto-calendar. The resin case measures 55 x 51.2 x 16.9 mm, weighs just 72 g, and comes with a custom EVA box.
The Evangelion x G-Shock GA-110EVA30-7AJR will release on October 17, 2025, for 37,400 yen [JP] (about US$250). It is available for pre-order on the EVA official store [JP] as we speak.
