First 10 Minutes of New Evangelion Movie

After years of delay, the promised new Neon Genesis Evangelion movie is finally arriving in 2020. It is the film fans have been waiting for. It is also the film which many, including myself, hope will answer the many burning questions after the TV series and the few films that follow after. There are a few developments revealed over the last couple of days.

First, it was the movie title which is officially called Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 and second, was the appearance of the official poster at the Japan Expo 2019 in Paris. Why Paris? Well, as it appears, Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 was set in Paris. The digital version of official poster is also now posted online on Evangelion official website.

But nothing was more exciting than the look at the first few minutes of the movie. At a special screening event called “Shin Evangelion Gekijoban AVANT 1 (Beginning 10 Minutes 40 Seconds 00 Frame) 0706 Version” held at Japan Expo 2019, fans were treated to first 10 minutes of the film before the title card. Let me tell you this, it was pretty breathtaking and unlike the TV series and the previous flicks, this one appears to be very fast paced.

Though it does not help that the 10 minutes screened was in Japanese with French subtitles. For those who weren’t at Japan Expo 2019 in Paris, fret not because, the stream has surfaced online. You can watch it the video embedded below, or follow this link. I suggest you do so as soon as you can because, there’s no telling how long the clip will be online.

Anywho… as far as the first 10 minutes goes, the film was as teased last year. It appears that the fourth child, Mari Makinami Illustrious, who is the pilot of Eva Unit-08 and third party operative first seen in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, is to be the protagonist of the film. Personally, I was pumped and can’t hardly wait for the film to drop.

Well, it may be nearly 5 years late, but you know what they say, ‘it is better late than never’. Japan Expo 2019 Paris will end today on July 7, 2019.

Some one was kind enough to add English sub to the video with correct perspective. You can watch in the video embedded below. If the sub did not appear, you may have to hit the “CC” button on the YouTube video player.
