This is dedicated to G-Shock collectors who just can’t get enough of the HODINKEE collab. That’s right. It is yet another G-Shock whipped up for the horology website and this time, Los Angeles-based design house Online Ceramics had their hands in it.
The G-SHOCK Ref. 5600 By Online Ceramics Limited Edition For HODINKEE, as it is called, is presented in a deep forest green colorway, with the strap emblazoned with “Online Ceramics” in a psychedelic font. In addition, it has a screen surrounded by yellow, red, and orange accents, along with Online Ceramic’s snail logo.
This vibrant watch encapsulates an eccentric woodland essence with bold yellow text highlighting phrases like “Sun Watch, Moon Time” and “Mushroom House Haunted Wagon.” Pressing the backlight button unveils a hidden message, “Love Grows In The Sunshine,” adding a playful touch.
Despite its whimsical design, the watch maintains durability with a resin case and strap, mineral glass screen cover, and 200 meters (660 feet) of water resistance.
Beyond the Online Ceramics touches, it is pretty much the 5600 you know and love with features like a multi-function alarm, flash alert, calendar, stopwatch, EL backlight with Afterglow and custom message, water resistance to 200 meters, shock resistance – just to name a few.
For the uninitiated, the G-SHOCK Ref. 5600 By Online Ceramics Limited Edition For HODINKEE is curated by John Mayer and a follow-up to the three-part collaboration launched by HODINKEE with Mayer. This particular piece is the second installment following the G-SHOCK Ref. 6900 – Subtract By Ed Sheeran.
