Geneinno. The company best known for making underwater drones also makes underwater scooter. The Geneinno S2 Underwater Scooter is the underwater drone maker’s latest recreational underwater transportation.
Sharing the design language of the Geneinno 6-thruster Underwater Drone, S2 is a sleek, portable recreational water transportation that is a little large than a 16-inch MacBook Pro and weighs in at just 5.9 lbs (2.68 kilograms), allowing it to be brought to anywhere in a backpack or a carry-on if traveling by air (which you could because, according to the company, it is totally air travel-friendly).
A pair of anti-rust treated 350W (total) DC brushless motors offers 22 lbs (10 kilograms) of thrust while 2-speed gearing affords cruising at 2-2.7 mph (3.2-4.3 km/h or 1.7-2.3 knot). It has a 97 Wh lithium polymer battery provides up to 45 minutes of use and recharges in just an hour and a half.
All told, this little guy allows you to dive down up to 98 feet (30 meters), but you probably not going to do that unless you have breathing apparatus. I think Geneinno S2 Underwater Scooter may be best for snorkeling and exploring coral reefs.
Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, GoPro compatibility, positive buoyancy, smart app monitoring, and interestingly, it has a parental mode with child safety lock that allows you to remote control the scooter with a child in tow using a smartphone. Well, it is almost like those high-end kiddie rides, but for water.
Geneinno S2 Underwater Scooter can be had in North America, via geneinno.us for US$399. It is also available to other parts of the world.
