Remember the first Pixel Watch? Cute, but its battery couldn’t outlast a nap. The subsequent Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 did better, but it still felt like Google was warming up. Now comes Pixel Watch 4, the one that finally decided to hit the gym and eat its veggies.
This thing is stacked with firsts. The new domed Actua 360 display isn’t just buzzwords—it’s 10% bigger, 16% slimmer at the bezels, and bright enough at 3,000 nits to sear your eyeballs on a sunny day. The battery now runs up to 40 hours, and thanks to the new quick-charge dock, you can go from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes—about the time it takes to regret starting a late-night workout.
Then there’s the wild card: standalone Satellite Communication. That’s right, the Pixel Watch 4 is the first smartwatch that can call for help off-grid, which makes your old Pixel Watch feel like a glorified friendship bracelet. Add in smarter sleep tracking, skin temperature sensing, dual-frequency GPS, and even Gemini riding shotgun on your wrist, and you’ve basically got a survival kit disguised as jewelry.
I know. The aerospace-grade aluminum-built Pixel Watch does not look tough, but it is actually IP68 rated, and can go down to 50 m underwater. The real kicker is, Google said that it can shake off dust, drops, and dings. Rest assured, if I were to buy one, I would not be putting it to drops or attempting to create dings on it.
I think I should mention that there are two models. There is the 41 mm and then the 45 mm version, with each model further having the option of a Wi-Fi or LTE version.
