Harry Potter Wizards Unite Mobile Game

Good news, Potter heads. The much anticipated Pokémon Go-style augmented reality Harry Potter: Wizards Unite mobile game is rolling out this Friday, June 21, into the Muggle world. But before you get all ga-ga over it, the roll out will be country-by-country, starting with the U.K and the U.S. So, if you anywhere outside of those two countries, you just have to be patience.

From what have seen on the game’s official website, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be similar to Pokémon Go where creatures and foes of Harry Potter, as well as various elements from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be fused with the real world via AR.

However, it appears to have a lot more elements than simply hitting up gym looking for a fight, or throwing Pokéball to catch creatures of all kind. There will be tasked to collect “Foundables” located around real-world locations and when you do find these “Foundables”, you will have to face off with monsters and creatures using your knowledge of spells.

Along the way, you will be able to hit up Inns to replenish Spell Energy, gather ingredients to use to brew potions, and perhaps, picking up Portkeys that will whisk you away to iconic Wizarding World locations, well, virtually, obviously. No. I don’t believe Butter Beer will be served at the Inns – in case that’s the one question that is floating in your wizardry mind.

Pre-registration page has already appeared on Google Play Store and Samsung Galaxy Store. However, we noted that there isn’t one for iOS yet. Like Pokémon Go and most mobile games, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be available as a free download, but do expect to be greeted with in-app purchases. In the meantime, here’s the official reveal trailer posted earlier today:
