Hasbro is giving the Armada Universe Optimus Prime a brand new spin as part of the 40th-year celebratory Legacy Evolution toy line (which is a subline imprint of the Generations toy line, btw). The Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime Figure, as the name suggests, was inspired by the animated series, Transformers: Armada.
The Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime Figure features 2 modes. It is a Transformers action figure that converts from a 7.5-inch tall robot into a truck in 20 steps and it comes with a trailer that converts into a battle station in 22 steps.
The trailer/battle station can combine with the figure to form Super Robot armor, i.e. almighty Armada Prime. The toy is supplied with 2-dual barrel blasters, an ion cannon, an Autobot faction plate attachment, and a Matric of Leadership accessory that fits inside the figure’s chest. The ion cannon and both blaster accessories can be combined to form a larger weapon accessory for use in its Super Robot form.
The Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime Figure has to be one of the most anticipated figures for this year. It has been a while since we have had an Armada Prime (the last was in 2002, I believe). Anyhoo, it is no surprise that this US$89.99 toy was snapped up when the books were opened last week. But not all hope is lost. You may check in with your local online/offline retailers who may be still taking in orders. Or you can pre-order it on Amazon.com for the same US$89.99.
The toy will be released on September 01, 2023. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
