If you are a huge fan of the mouth-less Japanese cartoon character Hello Kitty and also happen to love the classic arcade game, PAC-MAN, well then, Sanrio, Inc. and Bandai Namco has some good news for you. The two Japanese companies has announced at San Diego Comic-Con that the super adorable pop icon and the first video game hero will come together for what we thought was an unlikely collaboration. For starter, the PAC-MAN mobile game will get a limited time Hello Kitty themed update, available from now through to August 19 on Google Play and Apple App Store.
With the Hello Kitty themed update, PAC-MAN will now feature special in-game integrations and themed levels, customized icons, and ghosts which are now spruced up with a ribbon each on their heads. Cute, but whether this too-sweet-for-some-to-handle treatment will go down well with PAC-MAN fans remain to be seen. In addition to the Hello Kitty-infused PAC-MAN mobile game, fans can expect to see limited edition Hello Kitty x PAC-MAN merchandise collection at this year’s SDCC. According to the PR text, more variety of products will be available this Fall at speciality retailers.
The collection, which includes t-shirts, caps, socks, tote bags, pins, and of course, a Hello Kitty-infused PAC-MAN collective figure set, will be available at the BAIT booth (#5146) starting July 20. If you are interested in the figure, you will be glad to know that an additional version of the aforementioned collectible figure set will also be available at the New York Comic-Con in October too.
