Oral-B iO Electric Toothbrush CES 2020

Personally, I prefer brushing teeth the good old ways. But for those who prefer a dose of tech, P&G’s Oral-B have just the high-tech oral care product for you. Dubbed Oral-B iO electric toothbrush, it claims to have “artificial intelligence and algorithms” to enable perfect brushing in 16 zones.

Honestly, I have no idea a mouth has 16 zones. Do they even exist or just a marketing thing? Anywho, the highlights of this latest powered oral care product from Oral-B is no doubt the new “frictionless linear magnetic drive” that supposedly create micro vibrations at the tip of the bristles.

The micro vibrations works with a redesigned iO brush head that combine oscillating and rotating cleaning motions for a thorough clean of your enamels. The Oral-B iO is connected too. By the virtue of Bluetooth, it can connect to the Oral-B app to offer you feedback on your brushing performance.

What really captured my attention was the so called bimodal smart pressure sensor that boasts a variable-speed smart drive that adjusts frequency to protect gums and enamel. Bimodal smart pressure sensor, if it works as advertised, could be a god-sent for folks who have sensitive gums.

iO further touts 7 brushing modes ad it comes with a built-in battery with 12.5 days of battery, rechargeable with the included magnetic charger.

The new Oral-B iO Electric Toothbrush will be available in August 2020. Pricing will be announced closer to the date of availability.
