Handsfree, automatic toothbrush is not new. We have seen at least two at this point. While the previous two we saw, Unico and Amabrush, have brushes, this new entrant from Denmark called Unobrush uses a patent-pending medical-grade sponge-like material instead. The material, known as UnoFoam, completely reimagines the concept of brush. Or should I say, completely replaces the brush. Here’s the gist on how this game-changing material works: Continue reading Handsfree Toothbrush With Sponge-like ‘Brush’ Is A Real Game Changer
I use an OralB electric toothbrush that came with a brush cover and I am glad it did because, I am wary of creepy crawlies that may be all over it when it is not in use. Also, I was informed (by some experiments) that fecal matter, invisible to the naked eyes, may get into toothbrushes that share the same space as the toilet. It happens when one flushes the toilet without keeping the lid close. Apparently, vapors containing fecal matter get airborne, spreading as far as 9 feet. Holy shit. They are not serious that we have been shoving shit into our mouths, are they? Continue reading Rouse Case: A Toothbrush And Case That’s Anti-Bacterial And Sustainable
There are a few myths surrounding dogs oral hygiene, but one thing that isn’t is, lack of care for oral hygiene can lead to premature demise of fido. Of course, if you have the money, you can always rely on the vet, but as dentists will tell you, maintaining your teeth on regular basis is a must, dentist or not. Notwithstanding the controversial report on how “there’s little proof that (dental) flossing works,” I still floss. I mean, seriously, we are not going to kid ourselves that interdental spaces are going to clean themselves out, are we? Interdental spaces are the elusive gaps out-of-reach of standard toothbrushes and they made up as much as 40 percent of the tooth surfaces. Flossing is a must and it should work just fine, right? Well, only if you can fit your hands in your mouth. With my gorilla-size hands, I surely can’t. This is where Interdental brush comes in. Changing toothbrush on regular basis is a first world problem and apparently, someone have had enough of this wastage which, according to Goodwell & Company, would see a person dumping 12 pounds of plastic toothbrushes in his or her lifetime and the population Earth on the whole can generate as much as 80 billion pounds of plastic waste. We don’t quite agree though, cos’ it is after all, a first world problem which means not all 7.1 billion folks on planet Earth shares the same frivolous treatment when it comes to toothbrush, if they even brushes at all. Still, we thought the proposed open-source toothbrush by Goodwell & Company could be a serious game changer in the oral care segment. The outfit views disposal oral care product like the toothbrush as “planned obsolescence” and has a grand plan to halt it, and the open-source toothbrush is their weapon of choice which happens to look pretty awesome too.
