Honor Robot Phone Concept Phone

Have you ever imagined your phone coming to life? No, not like in the Transformers movies when it got struck by a shard of AllSpark. That would be nasty. Never mind if you did not, because Honor did. The smartphone maker has revealed a concept based around a robot phone, aptly called, well, Robot Phone.

Honor Robot Phone Concept Phone

In this out-of-this-world concept phone, a robot—with a camera for vision, of course—is tucked away in the back. When activated, it will emerge from the camera module and flip to the front. The setup feels like a lovechild of a smartphone and an action cam, mounted on a gimbal like the DJI Pocket.

This little guy has an “AI super brain” and is able to see everything anytime, anywhere. Obviously, privacy is going to be a huge problem, but never mind that for now—after all, it is a concept for the moment. This “eye” is not just a camera; it is a self-thinking companion that wants to be part of your life.

It will be your companion when staring at the night sky, your advisor for your OOTD, and basically just there to capture your everyday life. It is pretty much like the once-popular life cam, except that it is also a smartphone with, well, smartphone functions.

I know what you are thinking: isn’t the “head” of the robot a little too thick to go into the back of the phone? Not going to lie—I thought so, too. But what the hell, it is a concept phone, and it will remain so until 2026. Wait, what? Yes, Honor is going to officially unveil this little guy in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2026 [CH].

Meanwhile, we do not question whether it could be implemented from an engineering point of view. Let’s just let the imagination run wild for now. At least these guys dare to dream. We will talk about privacy when it becomes a reality.
