Hot Wheels Braille Racer Twin Mill

Earlier this year, Hot Wheels partnered with the National Federation of the Blind for a very special Hot Wheels Twin Mill that promotes an inclusive play experience. The iconic design from the late 60s has been given the Braille treatment to result in the Hot Wheels Braille Racer Twin Mill.

The collectible 1/64 scale diecast is designated collector number 085/250 and is presented in an all-white paint job. Even the wheels and tires are white too, separated only by a black trim.

The only visual decoration it has is a pair of gray racing stripes. It has no other visual graphics or text. Instead, it has braille on either side of the car which spells “TWIN” in braille on one side and “MILL” on the other side.

The 2023 card it came packed in has the National Federation of the Blind branding and the bubble has braille that spells out its name too.

We love what Hot Wheels have done. It is a wholesome thing that I am surprised it has not gotten many people talking. I am also surprised that it is not part of a special collection, such as the Hot Wheels Collector.

The Hot Wheels Braille Racer Twin Mill is part of the 250 castings that Hot Wheels release each year. Seriously, this really should have more media attention, IMHO. It is great that toymakers like LEGO and others are thinking about the visually impaired.

Anyhoo, we did find the Hot Wheels Braille Racer Twin Mill on Mattel’s online store. However, we did find it being sold on Carolinas Diecast and on wheelcollectors.com for US$2.99. You may also find it on eBay.

P.S.: As always, the EU packaging is the ’short card’.
