How to Fold an Origami Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter

Believe it or not, it is possible to fold a Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter out of a single piece of square paper. I know right. Considering how complicated a X-Wing is, you’d be forgiven for being skeptical that it is even possible, but as it turns it, you can actually do that. Well, that’s the wonder of origami, my friends. It seems like nothing is quite impossible with a sheet of paper when in the hands of everyday geniuses like origami enthusiast Joe who also run a YouTube channel aptly called How To Origami. Joe posted a video with detailed instruction on how to fold an origami em>Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter to go with a detailed written instruction on Instructables.

The video and Instructables tutorial were posted at the height of the seventh Star Wars flick hype back in 2016, but despite it being over a year old, we still find it fascinating and like we always say, if we have not heard of it yet, it is still news and if you haven’t, it is probably news to you too. Anywho, we suggest you check out the video and/or the brilliant written tutorial with pics if you want to give it a go, but be warned, this ain’t no paper crane. Expect to invest quite a bit of time (I’d say 20 minutes or more), as well as a piece of awesome origami paper to create one.

Imho, you should at least check out the video even if you are not an origami fan. Really. I know it sounds kind of silly, but for some reasons, the act of conjuring up a complex art from a single square sheet has managed to enthral me. Skip ahead for the aforementioned video. Enjoy!
