Detroit-based Boutique knife maker WESN is back with yet another handsome knife. This time, it is the brand’s take of the friction folding knife, called WESN Samla.
The WESN Samla is a compact, lightweight pocket knife inspired by WESN’s Scandinavian heritage and it is made for the great outdoor. While designed for prepping food, the Samla is also good for a variety of camping tasks, including shaving wood for fire, slicing ropes and more.
The knife benefits from a 2.45” long Sweden-sourced Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, sheepsfoot blade shape blade that offers ultimate hardness and corrosion resistance, with optimized chemistry to minimize micro-chipping and edge folding.
Rounding up the package is a minimalist, clean 3.25” handle in Titanium or Wood scales. Like many WESN products, the Samla is also offered with an optional leather stealth.
The WESN Samla Friction Folding Pocket Knife is available in the next 28 days or so on Kickstarter where you can secure a unit for 46% less at US$59 (MSRP US$110).
The campaign has, at the time of this post, met its funding goal. And so, yes, the product is a go and a pledge for a product is a pre-order which will be fulfilled sometime in October 2021.
